We are recruiting a Repairs Team Leader to join a respected social housing group in Northampton, leading the delivery of responsive repairs across the housing stock. As a Repairs Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of operatives, with a particular focus on fencing and paving repairs, ensuring high-quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and efficient delivery of day-to-day maintenance services. Repairs Team Leader key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising a team of repairs operatives, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Managing day-to-day responsive repairs, with a strong focus on fencing and paving works across the housing stock
- Planning workloads, allocating jobs, and monitoring productivity to ensure service targets are achieved
- Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring all completed works meet required standards
- Supporting, coaching, and developing team members through regular performance management
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice
- Liaising with residents, contractors, and internal departments to provide an excellent customer experience
- Monitoring materials, resources, and costs to ensure works are delivered efficiently and within budget
- Assisting in resolving complaints and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery
The successful Repairs Team Leader will have:
- Previous experience leading a repairs or maintenance team within social housing, property maintenance, or a similar environment
- Strong practical knowledge of fencing, paving, and external repairs
- Experience supervising and motivating a team to deliver excellent results
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A full UK driving licence
