This position gives you the opportunity to lead and develop the organisations approach to risk management, internal controls assurance, internal audit and fraud risk, helping to ensure key risks are understood, controls are effective and senior leadership has clear, evidence-based assurance to support strategic decision-making.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team where your work will have real influence across the organisation, with opportunities to help further develop and improve risk, assurance and fraud prevention arrangements.

In this position, you will be:

  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of the risk management framework, including risk appetite, controls, assessment and reporting.
  • Developing and implementing controls assurance arrangements, ensuring clear visibility of control effectiveness, assurance outcomes and areas for improvement.
  • Managing the internal audit programme, working with external providers and senior leaders to commission, deliver and report assurance activity.
  • Supporting the organisations approach to fraud risk management, including prevention, detection, reporting and organisational learning.
  • Providing clear and evidence-based assurance to support strong governance, regulatory compliance and informed decision-making.

  • Significant experience delivering risk management services within social housing or a similarly regulated sector.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • Significant experience designing and implementing internal controls assurance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of anti-fraud, bribery and corruption frameworks, policies and good practice.
  • Experience motivating, leading and empowering teams to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, objectives and projects effectively.
  • A professional qualification such as Institute of Risk Management (IRM) would be desirable.

This role is offering the following benefits:

  • Permanent contract 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • £56,385 annual salary
  • Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office
  • 26 days annual leave
