We are currently working in partnership with a well‑established Social Housing provider to recruit an experienced Housing Officer for an exciting temporary opportunity within a busy neighbourhood team across Devon.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast‑paced housing environment, supporting the delivery of high‑quality tenancy and estate management services.

You will take ownership of a general needs housing patch, managing the full spectrum of tenancy and estate responsibilities. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who can quickly adapt, build strong relationships with residents, and hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities of a Housing Officer:

  • Manage a general needs housing patch with full accountability
  • Deliver end‑to‑end tenancy management, including rent collection, ASB cases, and estate management
  • Lead on rent collection and arrears recovery, driving performance outcomes
  • Carry out home visits and build strong tenant relationships
  • Conduct estate inspections and maintain high neighbourhood standards
  • Enforce tenancy agreements, addressing breaches professionally and consistently
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support service delivery

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Housing Officer or in a Tenancy Management role
  • Strong background in rent collection and arrears management
  • Experience managing a housing patch independently
  • Comfortable carrying out home visits and estate inspections
  • Resilient and confident handling challenging situations
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
