We are currently looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to work on a social housing voids programme covering the Buxton area for a well-established housing maintenance contractor. This opportunity is with a respected maintenance provider delivering refurbishment works to empty social housing properties. We're looking for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative with a strong joinery background and good plumbing skills who is available to start as soon as possible, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position if desired!

As a Multi-Trade Operative, you will be:

  • Carrying out refurbishment works to void (empty) social housing properties
  • Completing a range of joinery and carpentry repairs, including fitting doors, kitchens and internal woodwork
  • Undertaking plumbing work as part of kitchen and bathroom replacements
  • Completing general making-good and finishing works to bring properties back to a lettable standard
  • Working across multiple properties throughout Buxton, Glossop, New Mills, Whaley Bridge and surrounding areas

I'd love to speak to anyone who has:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative with a joinery/carpentry bias
  • Good plumbing skills, particularly within kitchen and bathroom installations
  • Previous experience working within social housing or void property refurbishment (desirable)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to work independently and deliver high-quality workmanship
  • Availability to start as soon as possible

This Multi-Trade Operative role is offering the following benefits:

  • Up to £22 - £25 per hour
  • Weekly pay (CIS payments available)
  • Company van available, or a higher rate may be considered if using your own van
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Long term, self-employed contract
  • Temporary contract with the opportunity to become permanent
  • Immediate start available

Location & Travel: The role covers the High Peak and Glossop area, including Buxton, New Mills, Whaley Bridge and surrounding locations. Candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance, with travel between properties required throughout the working day.
