We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established housing organisation in Dudley for a Housing Support Officer to work within a supported housing unit for young adults and care leavers. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone experienced in providing practical and emotional housing-related support, helping young people develop independence and stability.
Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 housing support to young adults and care leavers
- Supporting residents to maintain tenancies and develop independent living skills
- Creating, reviewing and updating support plans
- Offering guidance around welfare benefits and housing benefits
- Signposting to relevant services and agencies
- Maintaining accurate records and case notes
- Working in line with safeguarding and organisational policies
What We’d Love To See From You
- Previous experience providing housing support or similar support work
- Strong understanding of support planning and tenancy sustainment
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing-related support
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
