Job Description
We are currentlyrecruiting on behalfof a respected Housing Association in Staffordshire for anexperienced Temporary Lettings Officer to support theteam during abusy period. Thisis an excellentopportunity forsomeonewith a strongbackground in housingallocations and lettingswho can hitthe ground running.
This is initiallya short-term temporaryassignment with hybrid working
, offeringa mix ofhome working, office-based duties, andregular visits acrossthehousingpatch.
Key Responsibilities of a Lettings Officer
- Manage the end-to-end lettingsprocess, ensuring propertiesare allocated efficientlyand in linewith policy.
- Assess housing applicationsand determine applicants' priority in accordancewith the organisation'sallocations policy.
- Demonstrate a strongunderstanding of housing banding and priorityneed criteria toensure fair andcompliant allocations.
- Liaise with applicants, internal departments, andexternal agencies throughoutthe lettings process.
- Coordinate property viewingsand sign-upswhere required.
- Maintain accurate housingmanagement records andensure compliance withrelevant legislation andinternal procedures.
- Supportthe reductionof void turnaroundtimes by progressingallocations promptly.
- Build positive relationshipswith customers whiledelivering an excellentlevel of service.
About You
- Previous experience workingas a Lettings Officer, Allocations Officer, Housing Officer, orin a similarrole within socialhousing.
- A solid understandingof housing allocations, banding systems, andpriority need assessments.
- Knowledge of relevanthousing legislation andbest practice.
- Excellent communicationand customer serviceskills.
- Strong organisational skillswith the abilitytomanage a busyand varied workload.
- Experience using housingmanagement systems isdesirable.
- A full UKdriving licence andaccess to avehicle.
