I am on the lookout for a Damp and Mould Surveyor to join a leading housing association on a permanent basis, delivering high quality customer focussed services to their homes. This is a vital role within the management team of the Home Repairs Service and responsibilities will be varied and wide ranging with the main primary focus being on Damp and Mould.

We are working with a well-established housing organisation who are looking to appoint a Damp and Mould Surveyor to join their team in Portishead. This permanent position offers flexible and agile working, supporting the management of complex damp, mould and disrepair cases from inspection through to completion.

This Damp and Mould Surveyor role is offering:

  • Salary of £48,000 per annum.
  • Permanent contract working 37 hours per week.
  • Flexible and agile working arrangements.
  • 32 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme and mileage paid at 45p per mile.

Key duties of the successful Damp and Mould Surveyor:

  • Taking ownership of complex damp and mould cases from initial inspection through to completion.
  • Surveying properties to identify building defects using appropriate testing and building pathology.
  • Project managing remedial repair works to ensure delivery within budget and timescales.
  • Producing detailed reports and specifications, including documentation for Section 20 notices.
  • Supporting damp, mould and disrepair claims with clear technical evidence.
  • Working closely with contractors, residents and internal teams throughout delivery.

Skills needed for the Damp and Mould Surveyor position:

  • Strong experience inspecting and diagnosing damp, mould and building defects.
  • Good understanding of building pathology and appropriate remedial solutions.
  • Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and specifications.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Clear communication skills and a resident-focused approach.

Qualifications needed for the Damp and Mould Surveyor role:

  • Relevant surveying, building or construction qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within housing or a similar property environment.

  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
