We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of planned maintenance and renewal contracts across a regional portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for commercial governance, financial performance and leading a high-performing commercial team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular site visits to support operational teams, drive commercial performance and ensure successful delivery of high-volume planned works programmes, including kitchen and bathroom replacement schemes.
Candidates with strong experience in planned maintenance, refurbishment, renewals, or social housing frameworks are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Lead commercial governance across a regional portfolio of planned works contracts.
- Oversee budgets, forecasts, valuations, cost reporting and key commercial performance metrics.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and project reviews.
- Manage subcontract procurement, administration and final accounts.
- Maintain a regular presence on site to support delivery teams and maximise commercial performance.
- Lead, mentor and develop a commercial team, from Assistant Quantity Surveyors through to Quantity Surveyors.
- Review team outputs, ensuring consistency in commercial processes, reporting and controls.
- Act as the key commercial escalation point across regional contracts.
- Promote effective contract management, commercial governance and dispute avoidance.
- Produce clear commercial reporting and performance updates for senior stakeholders.
About You
We're looking for an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record of leading teams within planned maintenance, refurbishment or renewal projects.
- Proven experience within planned maintenance, renewals or social housing refurbishment.
- Strong commercial governance skills with the ability to interpret forecasts, cost reports and performance metrics.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing Quantity Surveying teams.
- The ability to balance office-based commercial management with regular site engagement.
- Strong knowledge of subcontract management, valuations, cost control and final accounts.
