We are recruiting an Interim Asset Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Gloucester, supporting property services across the local region on a 3-month contract. As an Interim Asset Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and delivering capital investment programmes and planned improvement contracts to ensure homes remain safe, compliant, sustainable and provide high-quality homes for customers.

- Working pattern: Full-time (37-40 hours per week)

Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Gloucester and the surrounding areas. They are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and delivering excellent services to their tenants and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage capital works contracts and planned improvement programmes to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards while maintaining compliance with Decent Homes and regulatory requirements.
- Lead day-to-day contract management activities to ensure contractors deliver high-quality services, contractual obligations are met and performance is continuously improved.
- Deliver professional surveying advice and technical support to inform investment decisions, resolve property-related issues and support effective programme delivery.
- Monitor and manage statutory compliance, landlord responsibilities and contractor health and safety performance to ensure safe delivery of works and minimise organisational risk.
- Control programme budgets, monitor expenditure and provide financial forecasting and reporting to maximise investment outcomes and deliver value for money.
The successful Interim Asset Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing
- A recognised construction-related qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
- Strong knowledge of planned and capital works
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing works on site
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
