We’re working in partnership with a values‑driven housing provider to recruit an experienced Housing Manager. This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to step into a well‑established service and make an immediate impact—ensuring continuity, supporting teams on the ground, and helping prepare for an upcoming regulatory inspection.
About the organisation
This respected housing provider manages a diverse portfolio of supported and general needs homes across multiple local sites. With a strong community focus, they deliver high‑quality tenancy, income, and estate services through locally based teams, working closely with residents to create safe, well‑managed environments.
Key responsibilities of a Housing Manager
- Provide confident, visible leadership to a busy housing management team
- Line manage and support a team of 8–10 staff across income, tenancy/estate management and domestic services
- Oversee tenancy management across a multi‑site portfolio
- Monitor and drive income collection performance
- Lead on allocations and lettings activity
- Support resolution of ASB cases (low volume)
- Maintain a strong on‑site presence, coaching and supporting front‑line colleagues
- Contribute to service improvement and regulatory inspection preparation
- Ensure a smooth and effective handover from the current postholder
Working arrangements
- 35 hours per week
- Hybrid model: 1–2 days per week in the main office
- Regular site visits across local properties
- Up to 1 day per week working from home for admin
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in housing management leadership (Housing Team Manager or similar)
- Strong operational knowledge across tenancy management, income, lettings/allocations and ASB
- A confident and supportive people manager, experienced in leading multi‑disciplinary teams
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and maintaining a visible presence
- Able to hit the ground running and manage a smooth transition
- Experience supporting service improvement or regulatory readiness is highly desirable
- A pragmatic, hands‑on approach suited to interim assignments
