Key Responsibilities of a Homeownership Officer
- Manage a portfolio of leasehold and homeownership properties, providing a high-quality and customer-focused service.
- Ensure compliance with leasehold legislation, policies and procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Provide advice and support to homeowners and leaseholders, dealing with enquiries, complaints and complex cases.
- Manage service charges, major works and other homeownership-related charges.
- Carry out routine visits to homeownership schemes and estates, working closely with Estates Services to assess environmental standards, identify and resolve communal maintenance issues and improve shared spaces.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, solicitors and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
- Produce and monitor performance information, including KPIs, trends and exception reports, identifying risks and opportunities for service improvement.
- Support senior management with accurate performance information and contribute to improving customer satisfaction and service outcomes.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within the social housing sector.
- Experience in a homeownership, leasehold, shared ownership or housing management role.
- Good knowledge of leasehold legislation, service charges and homeownership processes.
- Experience of estate/scheme management and working with residents and internal service teams.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing complex cases, complaints and competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, including experience working with housing management systems and performance data.
