This position offers a 6–12 month contract, leading an experienced team while driving forward resident engagement, consumer regulation compliance and service improvement across the housing service.

You’ll be joining a collaborative housing team at an exciting time, with the opportunity to lead on a high-profile engagement strategy, strengthen resident involvement, and support preparations around the Social Housing Consumer Standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional looking to make an immediate impact within a large social housing provider.

As the Tenant Engagement Manager, you will be:

  • Managing a team of Tenant Engagement Officers and a Quality & Development Officer, providing day-to-day leadership, supervision and performance management
  • Leading the delivery of resident engagement activities, including consultations, tenant and resident associations, customer scrutiny groups and assurance boards
  • Developing and delivering the organisation's Tenant Engagement Strategy through resident workshops and stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting compliance with the Social Housing Consumer Standards, including the Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard
  • Driving forward actions arising from mock inspection plans and regulatory readiness work
  • Supporting officers with occasional site visits and resident consultations
  • Attending occasional evening meetings to engage with resident groups and community forums
  • Using NEC, Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other housing systems to monitor performance and produce reports

  • Proven experience leading tenant or resident engagement services within social housing or a local authority
  • Strong knowledge of the Social Housing Consumer Standards and regulatory expectations around resident involvement
  • Experience managing and developing teams within a housing environment
  • A track record of developing engagement strategies and delivering meaningful resident consultation
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using NEC, Power BI or TP Tracker would be advantageous

The role is offering the following benefits:

  • 6–12 month contract £32–35 per hour Umbrella
  • Hybrid working, with approximately 60% office-based
  • Full-time office presence required during the first 3–4 weeks for onboarding

This role is based in the West Midlands, with hybrid working available following the initial onboarding period. You’ll be expected to attend the office for approximately 60% of the working week, with flexibility to work from home and other office locations. Occasional travel across the local area will be required to support resident engagement events, consultations and community meetings.
