We are recruiting on behalf of a leading social housing provider for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Officer in Shaftesbury to provide proactive housing management and support to residents at risk of homelessness. The role will involve working closely with individuals and families in temporary accommodation, helping them maintain their tenancy, maximise their income and progress towards secure, permanent housing. Key Responsibilities of a Tmporary Accommodation Officer: Manage a caseload of residents in temporary accommodation, providing housing advice, guidance and tenancy sustainment support. Work with residents on a one-to-one basis to develop personal housing plans and support their move towards permanent accommodation. Provide advice and assistance with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, PIP, appeals and income maximisation. Monitor rent accounts and arrears, working with residents and Customer Accounts teams to establish sustainable payment and budgeting plans. Manage tenancy terminations, voids and allocations, helping to minimise void turnaround times. Respond proactively to ASB, nuisance, harassment and safeguarding concerns, working with relevant teams and external agencies.
