We are recruiting for an Interim Property Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in the South West, supporting property services across the local region on a 3 month contract. As an Interim Property Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying services across housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and fit for purpose. This role requires travel across the South West to areas including Bristol, Somerset, North Devon and South Wales!

About the Company

Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across the South West and the surrounding areas. They are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and delivering excellent services to their tenants and communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare information on specific projects with regards to the current CDM Regulations and undertake the execution of the client role in respect of specific projects.
  • Undertake checks on contractors and suppliers proposed for projects to ensure that they are suitable and competent to undertake the work, are financially viable and have adequate insurance in place.
  • Inspect contractors Post Tender Health & Safety file to ensure compliance with the current CDM Regulations.
  • Represent the Estates Services Team and liaise with operational teams and residents with regards to specific project issues.
  • Undertake inspections and surveys of properties to determine works required to deliver project outcomes.
  • Specify work, prepare cost estimates and cash flow forecasts and produce reports as required to support business case presentations and value for money assessments necessary to obtain project approval and demonstrate project viability.
  • Carry out energy rating of the property to establish the most effective improvement work to existing stock and specific improvement projects.
  • Ensure data collected is stored in the group’s asset management system.
  • Carry out property condition surveys and update the asset management database in a timely manner.

The successful Interim Property Surveyor will have:

  • HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience of working in property services
  • Technical and building knowledge
  • Social housing experience
