We are recruiting a Development Manager for a leading Social Housing Provider based in Peterborough, delivering high-quality affordable housing across the region! As a Development Manager, you will lead on the delivery of new build housing schemes from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the delivery of residential development projects from feasibility through to handover
- Managing project budgets, programmes, and risk to ensure successful outcomes
- Procuring and managing contractors, consultants, and development partners
- Overseeing planning applications and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Monitoring construction progress and ensuring quality standards are met
- Collaborating with internal teams including asset management, finance, and housing
- Ensuring developments align with sustainability and energy efficiency targets
- Managing stakeholder relationships including local authorities and partners
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across all development activities
The successful Development Manager will have:
- Proven experience delivering residential development projects within social housing or a similar sector
- Strong knowledge of the development lifecycle including planning and construction
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and project timelines
- Knowledge of UK planning regulations and building standards
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience managing external contractors and consultants
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Relevant qualification in construction, real estate, or project management (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle
- An Enhanced DBS check will be carried out for the successful Development Manager
