Senior Revenues Officer Location: Leicestershire Contract/Salary : £18-£22 per hour (via umbrella) Hours: Full-time, standard office hours with hybrid working options available About the Role We are seeking a Senior Revenues Officer to join our Revenues team in Leicestershire. As a Senior Revenues Officer, you will play a vital role in overseeing Council Tax (CT) and Business Rates (NDR) billing, recovery, and enforcement processes. While this position does not involve direct staff management, you will be expected to provide expert guidance and support to the wider team, ensuring the efficient operation of services and the maximisation of income. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is looking to use their skills in a senior capacity within a dynamic team. Key Responsibilities Deliver expert support in Council Tax and Business Rates billing, recovery, and enforcement as a Senior Revenues Officer. Manage the visits process to maximise income and identify growth opportunities. Effectively handle and resolve complaints, ensuring a high level of customer service. Oversee and manage the annual billing process to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Complete statutory returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Support project management efforts related to Revenues services, including system updates and process improvements. Utilise Academy and Enterprise ICT systems for efficient processing and data management. Manage the post-liability order enforcement process, ensuring adherence to legal procedures and regulations. Stay up-to-date with technological advances in the Revenues field and contribute to implementing new tools and solutions. What We’re Looking For Extensive experience in a Revenues Officer role, specifically with Council Tax and Business Rates. Strong understanding of statutory processes, billing, and enforcement. Proven ability to manage complex workloads and maintain attention to detail in all aspects of the role. Proficiency in using Academy and Enterprise ICT systems. A proactive and solution-focused approach to managing tasks and resolving challenges. BPSS clearance and a DBS check will be required. Desirable Skills and Knowledge Experience with automation in Revenues systems. Knowledge of collection fund accounting and related processes.
