This Management Accountant position offers the opportunity to step into a busy finance team at a pivotal time, providing hands-on support and stability during a period of change. Offered on an initial 6-month contract, this role provides both immediate impact and potential longer-term opportunity.

You will be joining a fast-paced environment where your ability to hit the ground running is essential. As a Management Accountant, you will take ownership of key financial processes, ensuring month-end is delivered accurately and on time, while supporting the wider team with technical expertise and day-to-day guidance.

Important: Social housing experience is essential for this role. Applications without this will not be considered.

We would love to hear from anyone with a background as a Management Accountant, Technical Accountant, or Finance Business Partner within a social housing provider, who is confident stepping into complex roles with minimal handover.

As a Management Accountant, you will be:

  • Taking ownership of month-end processes, with a key focus on repairs & maintenance accounting
  • Producing and supporting the delivery of accurate management accounts
  • Providing technical accounting expertise across capital and development accounting
  • Acting as a key point of contact for finance queries across the team
  • Supporting and guiding colleagues where needed to ensure continuity and performance

We would love to speak to any Management Accountant who has:

  • Proven experience working within a social housing finance team (essential)
  • Strong understanding of repairs & maintenance accounting within housing
  • Experience with capital/development accounting in a housing setting
  • Full ownership of month-end processes in a similar environment
  • The ability to work autonomously and deliver in a fast-paced environment

Key requirements for this Management Accountant role:

  • Current or recent social housing experience is non-negotiable
  • A track record of stepping into roles and delivering with minimal supervision
  • Clear, demonstrable technical accounting capability (essential)
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice

The role is offering the following benefits:
