We are recruiting an Interim Planned Works Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Birmingham, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract. As an Interim Planned Works Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying services across housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and fit for purpose. About the Company
Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. They are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and delivering excellent services to their tenants and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting property inspections, including planned works surveys
- Preparing specifications of work and managing contractors to deliver planned works projects
- Frontline operational role supporting contract delivery and contractor performance
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with compliance and health & safety standards
- Managing projects within occupied properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
- Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring cost-effective delivery of works
- Producing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records using internal systems
- Supporting the delivery of planned maintenance programmes
The successful Interim Planned Works Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing
- A recognised construction-related qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
- Strong knowledge of planned works
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing works on site
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
