Our client is a growing housing provider operating across Swansea and the surrounding areas of South Wales. Following a recent organisational merger and systems integration, the organisation is continuing to develop and strengthen its housing service. With a significant programme of new-build homes coming forward, alongside an ongoing programme of vacant-property management, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team and play a key role in delivering high-quality housing services to local communities. About the Housing Officer: This is a generic housing management role, covering Swansea and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will manage a varied tenancy caseload and provide support across the full tenancy lifecycle, including tenancy management, tenant engagement, neighbourhood issues, property visits and tenancy sustainment. There will also be a strong focus on supporting the letting and occupation of new-build homes, as well as assisting with the wider vacant-property programme. However, this is not a purely lettings-focused position and will provide the opportunity to undertake a broad range of housing management responsibilities. The role is community-based and will require regular travel across Swansea and surrounding areas, alongside flexible hybrid working. Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer: Manage a varied caseload of tenants and properties across Swansea and surrounding areas. Deliver generic tenancy and housing management services throughout the tenancy lifecycle. Manage lettings, allocations, sign-ups and tenant moves for new and vacant properties. Undertake tenancy and property visits, addressing issues proactively. Manage tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood issues. Support tenancy sustainment and work with tenants to resolve issues. Work closely with repairs, income, housing and other internal teams. Maintain accurate tenancy records and case management information. Manage your own workload, diary and travel effectively. Contribute to the ongoing development of the housing service. About You: Experience working as a Housing Officer, Tenancy Officer or in a similar social housing role. Good knowledge of generic tenancy and housing management. Experience managing a caseload and working directly with tenants. Understanding of tenancy legislation, policies and procedures. Previous lettings or allocations experience is desirable. Confident dealing with tenancy breaches, ASB and challenging situations. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Organised and able to manage your own workload and diary. Comfortable travelling across Swansea and surrounding areas. Able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team. Customer-focused, proactive and committed to delivering a high-quality housing service. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a developing housing service.
