Permanent Kitchen Fitter role with an established main contractor working across the social housing sector, offering £35,000-£40,000 per year, company benefits and long-term stability.

Based in Leicester, you'll work across occupied social housing properties carrying out full kitchen installations, planned maintenance and larger disrepair works.

This is a stable permanent opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Fitter with strong multi-trade skills who can work independently and deliver high-quality work within tenanted properties. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills further, with a supportive team and ongoing training available.

I’d love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as a Kitchen Fitter, Multi-Trade Operative, Multi Skilled Operative or Maintenance Operative, particularly those with social housing experience.

As a Kitchen Fitter, you will be:

  • Completing full kitchen installations within occupied social housing properties.
  • Removing existing kitchens and preparing areas for new installations.
  • Fitting kitchen units, worktops, panels, sink bases and associated fixtures.
  • Installing laminate worktops, including butt and scribe joints, trims and joint strips.
  • Completing associated plumbing, including sinks, taps and basic pipework alterations.
  • Fitting kitchen appliances where required.
  • Completing wall and splashback tiling.
  • Carrying out boxing-in, trims, silicone sealing and making‑good.
  • Undertaking larger disrepair and refurbishment works.
  • Completing wide multi-trade works including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting/decorating and flooring repairs.
  • Working professionally within tenants' homes, keeping areas clean and minimising disruption.
  • Communicating effectively with tenants, supervisors and office staff.
  • Completing job sheets, reports and photographic records accurately.
  • General Kitchen Fitter and multi-trade responsibilities

I’d love to speak to anyone who has:

  • Proven Kitchen Fitter experience, ideally within social housing, maintenance or domestic refurbishment.
  • Strong carpentry and joinery skills.
  • Experience fitting kitchen units, laminate worktops, panels and associated components.
  • Experience with worktop joints, trims and finishing.
  • Wall and splashback tiling experience.
  • Basic plumbing experience relating to kitchen installations.
  • Wide multi-trade experience, particularly carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating.
  • Experience working on larger disrepair or refurbishment projects.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A professional, tidy and customer‑focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications are desirable but not essential.
