We are currently working in partnership with a well-established Social Housing provider to recruit an experienced Housing Officer for an exciting temporary opportunity within a busy neighbourhood team across Devon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced housing environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality tenancy and estate management services.
You will take ownership of a general needs housing patch, managing the full spectrum of tenancy and estate responsibilities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly adapt, build strong relationships with residents, and hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:- Manage a general needs housing patch with full accountability
- Deliver end-to-end tenancy management, including rent collection, ASB cases, and estate management
- Lead on rent collection and arrears recovery, driving performance outcomes
- Carry out home visits and build strong tenant relationships
- Conduct estate inspections and maintain high neighbourhood standards
- Enforce tenancy agreements, addressing breaches professionally and consistently
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to support service delivery
- Proven experience as a Housing Officer or in a Tenancy Management role
- Strong background in rent collection and arrears management
- Experience managing a housing patch independently
- Comfortable carrying out home visits and estate inspections
- Resilient and confident handling challenging situations
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
