We are recruiting a Senior Surveyor to join a well-established social housing group based in Suffolk. As a Senior Surveyor, you will act as one of the Building Surveying Managers, accountable for the delivery of multiple workstreams while leading and developing a team of apprentice and qualified surveyors. In this position, you will undertake a mix of hands-on surveying and management responsibilities, ensuring performance targets and service standards are consistently achieved for a competitive salary of £50-51,500 annually.

Senior Surveyor key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a Senior Building Surveyor delivering a full range of Building Surveying services
  • Managing and mentoring a team of surveyors and apprentice surveyors
  • Ensuring all performance and service targets are met across the Building Surveying service
  • Developing staff to reach their full potential through leadership and support
  • Ensuring all activity is completed to required professional and organisational standards

Surveying work will include (but is not limited to):

  • Housing defect surveys
  • Managing damp and mould in line with Awaab's Law
  • Party wall agreements
  • Tenant own improvements
  • Disrepair claims
  • Boundary wall disputes
  • Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
  • Improvements and planned surveys
  • Designing and specifying works
  • Project management and feasibility studies
  • Stock condition surveys
  • Managing an adaptations service

You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for delivering the best possible service to tenants at all times.

The successful Senior Surveyor will have:

  • A degree qualification and/or membership of a relevant professional organisation
  • Significant qualitative experience in Building Surveying
  • Detailed knowledge of Building Surveying practices and Building Regulations
  • The confidence to lead teams and manage complex workloads
