Were recruiting an experienced Income Officer on behalf of a well-established local housing association in Birmingham. This Income Officer position is a temporary opportunity offering a varied caseload and the chance to play a key role in supporting tenants while protecting rental income.

The Role
Youll be responsible for managing rent accounts across a defined patch, taking a proactive and structured approach to income recovery.

Key responsibilities of an Income Officer include:

  • Managing rent accounts and arrears for a patch of properties
  • Engaging with tenants to prevent arrears and agree repayment plans
  • Taking appropriate recovery action in line with policy and legislation
  • Preparing and progressing legal action, including court proceedings and possession claims
  • Attending court where required
  • Working closely with housing management, legal teams, and external agencies
  • Effectively managing your own diary and workload

  • Previous experience as an Income Officer within a housing association or local authority
  • Strong knowledge of income recovery and housing legislation
  • Experience preparing cases for court and attending hearings
