We are recruiting an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Essex, on a 3-month contract. As an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for support of the delivery of our Building Control team through undertaking assessing a range of Building Control applications suitable to your accreditation.

What’s on offer:

  • Rate: 70-75 per hour (inside of IR35 and through umbrella)
  • Contract: 3-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
  • Working pattern: Full-time (37-40 hours per week)
  • This role will require you to work out of the office 1 day a week and travel around the area 2 days a week

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out site inspections and plan checking (min 2 days on site per week)
  • Attend to dangerous structures
  • Carry out enforcement of The Building Regulations and Building Act as necessary
  • Supervise senior, junior surveyors and admin staff
  • Deputise for the Building Control Manager when required
  • Assist the Building Control Manager in the implementation of the BSR operational Standards
  • Assist the Building Control Manager in procedural changes to the service
  • Plan checking

The successful Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor will have:

  • Professional qualifications by one of the chartered institutes with a specialism in Building Control
  • Minimum Class 2F Registration
