An exciting short-term opportunity has arisen for an experienced Neighbourhood Manager to join a high-performing Neighbourhoods team covering Birmingham and Coventry. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will play a key part in stabilising services, supporting frontline teams, and helping to drive positive change across neighbourhood services.
As Neighbourhood Manager, you will provide strong, visible leadership across customer-facing teams, ensuring excellent housing management, effective tenancy sustainment, and robust responses to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). You will manage complex cases, support staff through 1-1 supervision, and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to deliver positive outcomes for residents and communities. This role will also contribute to organisational transformation, supporting the review and rewriting of policies and procedures to improve consistency, service quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities of a Neighbourhood Manager:- Lead, motivate and manage neighbourhood teams, including 1-1 staff management, coaching and performance development
- Oversee tenancy and neighbourhood management services, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and best practice
- Manage and resolve complex Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and tenancy enforcement cases
- Drive performance management, service improvement and quality assurance across the service
- Support organisational transformation, including reviewing and rewriting policies and procedures
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, councillors, community groups and support agencies
- Act as a senior point of contact for escalated issues and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure a strong customer focus, promoting excellent service delivery and resident satisfaction
- Proven experience in housing management, neighbourhood services or a related field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide customer-facing teams
- Experience managing complex ASB and tenancy management cases to resolution
- Sound understanding of performance management and service improvement methodologies
- Experience of liaising with stakeholders and councillors
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Resilience and a genuine passion for delivering great customer service
- A relevant housing qualification (e.g. CIH) or working towards one
This role offers an hourly rate between £38 - £42 per hour.
