We are recruiting an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Essex, on a 3-month contract. As an Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our Building Control team through assessing a range of Building Control applications suitable to your accreditation.
What's on offer:
- Rate: £70-75 per hour (inside of IR35 and through umbrella)
- Contract: 3-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
- Working pattern: Full-time (37-40 hours per week)
- This role will require you to work out of the office 1 day a week and travel around the area 2 days a week
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out site inspections and plan checking (min 2 days on site per week)
- Attend to dangerous structures
- Carry out enforcement of The Building Regulations and Building Act as necessary
- Supervise senior, junior surveyors and admin staff
- Deputise for the Building Control Manager when required
- Assist the Building Control Manager in the implementation of the BSR operational Standards
- Assist the Building Control Manager in procedural changes to the service
- Plan checking
The successful Interim Principal Building Control Surveyor will have:
- Professional qualifications by one of the chartered institutes with a specialism in Building Control
- Minimum Class 2F Registration and Chartered with CIOB/ RICS/ CABE
- Experience within a similar post
- Social housing experience
