Are you passionate about creating safer communities and supporting people to live peacefully in their homes? We're looking for an experienced ASB Officer to join our team in a busy, varied and rewarding frontline role.
As the first point of contact for anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues, you'll deliver services directly to our tenants, using restorative approaches to empower individuals, resolve conflict and build stronger communities. You'll provide expert advice on preventing and tackling anti-social behaviour while working collaboratively with residents and partner agencies to address the root causes of community safety issues.
As a ASB Officer, you will:
- Manage anti-social behaviour cases from initial report through to resolution, ensuring timely, professional and victim-centred outcomes.
- Use restorative approaches to resolve conflict, repair harm and promote sustainable tenancies by identifying support needs and referring residents to appropriate partner agencies.
- Support victims and witnesses through safety planning, target hardening measures and referrals to specialist support services where required.
- Investigate complex ASB cases, gathering and recording evidence, taking witness statements and preparing detailed case files.
- Lead on legal action where appropriate, including injunctions, prohibited conduct standard contracts, possession proceedings and court hearings, working closely with solicitors on complex cases.
- Make informed decisions on the most appropriate legal remedies in line with legislation and organisational procedures.
- Share knowledge across the organisation by providing advice and training to Housing Officers and colleagues, helping to ensure a consistent approach to managing anti-social behaviour.
We're looking for an ASB Officer who has:
- Proven experience of managing anti-social behaviour cases from investigation through to resolution.
- A strong understanding of housing legislation, anti-social behaviour legislation and available legal remedies.
- Experience preparing cases for court and presenting evidence where required.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a wider team.
- Confidence in building effective relationships with tenants, colleagues and external partners.
- Good IT skills and the ability to produce accurate records and reports.
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding, restorative practice and delivering outstanding customer service.
