We're looking for a Housing Service Manager to join a team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of home and office working, on a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities of a Housing Service Manager:

  • Manage a team and ensure tenancies are managed properly and in line with policies and best practice.
  • Review tenancy cases regularly and handle any complex issues.
  • Deal with tenancy breaches like ASB, property condition problems, or missed appointments, ensuring the right balance between enforcement and supporting vulnerable tenants.
  • Track team performance and ensure targets are being met.
  • Work closely with other teams to build a clear picture of how well tenancies are being managed.
  • Improve the way tenancy management is reported, utilising technology and supporting your team to develop their skills.

  • Proven experience in housing management, neighbourhood services or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide customer-facing teams.
  • Experience managing complex ASB and tenancy management cases to resolution.

  • Experience of liaising with stakeholders and councillors.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
