We are recruiting on behalf of a growing supported housing organisation in Wiltshire that provides accommodation and support to ex-military veterans, helping to reduce homelessness and support residents as they transition back into civilian life. The organisation currently operates a 44-unit supported housing scheme and has ambitious plans to expand its services. They are now looking for an experienced Supported Housing Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the scheme and lead the on-site team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to join an organisation at an exciting stage of its development and play a key role in its continued growth.
Key Responsibilities of a Supported Housing Manager:
- Take overall day-to-day responsibility for the 44-unit supported housing scheme.
- Manage and support the on-site team, including Housing Support Workers, administration staff and a caretaker.
- Provide effective leadership, guidance and supervision to the team.
- Oversee the delivery of supported housing and intensive housing management.
- Ensure effective processes are in place for resident sign-ups, move-ins, welfare checks, risk assessments and tenancy management.
- Oversee housing administration, records, compliance and case management.
- Ensure residents receive appropriate support with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and wider welfare matters.
- Monitor rent, tenancy and housing management issues and ensure these are dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure the service operates in line with safeguarding, health and safety, compliance and organisational procedures.
- Liaise with local authorities, housing teams, benefits departments and external agencies.
- Develop and improve systems and processes across the supported housing service.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contribute to the organisation's expansion plans.
- Maintain high standards across the scheme and ensure issues are identified and resolved promptly.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience managing a supported housing, supported accommodation or housing service.
- Experience managing or supervising a small multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of supported housing and intensive housing management.
- Good knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and the wider benefits system.
