We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Worcestershire, supporting commercial and property services across the local region on a permanent basis. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, valuations, and financial performance across a range of housing projects, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations. About the Company
Our client is a well‑established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Worcestershire and the surrounding areas. They are committed to delivering high‑quality homes, maintaining strong financial control, and providing excellent services to their tenants and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple projects
- Preparing tender and contract documentation and supporting procurement processes
- Valuing works and managing interim and final accounts with contractors
- Monitoring project costs and identifying risks or opportunities to ensure cost efficiency
- Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
- Working closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders
- Handling variations, change control processes, and dispute resolution where required
- Ensuring accurate record‑keeping and financial tracking using internal systems
- Supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing or public sector projects
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of cost management, contracts, and procurement processes
- Experience managing contractor relationships and financial negotiations
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems
