As a Damp and Mould Surveyor, you will carry out detailed property inspections, diagnose the causes of damp and mould, and ensure appropriate remedial works are identified and delivered to a high standard. Damp and Mould Surveyor key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out detailed inspections of properties affected by damp, mould, condensation, and associated defects
- Identifying the underlying causes of damp and mould and recommending appropriate remedial solutions
- Producing accurate inspection reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Liaising with residents, contractors, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved effectively
- Monitoring remedial works to ensure they are completed to the required quality, timescales, and standards
- Providing technical advice and guidance on damp, mould, ventilation, condensation, and building defects
- Ensuring all inspections and remedial works comply with relevant legislation, regulations, health & safety requirements, and organisational policies
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring cases are appropriately documented and progressed
- Supporting the organisation in delivering excellent customer service and positive outcomes for residents
The successful Damp and Mould Surveyor will have:
- Previous experience in a surveying or property-related role, ideally within social housing
- Strong knowledge of damp, mould, condensation, ventilation, and building defects
- Experience carrying out property inspections and producing technical reports and specifications
- Good understanding of housing standards, health & safety, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload and competing priorities
- A relevant surveying, construction, building studies, or property qualification
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the area
