We’re hiring a Lead Front End Developer to play a key role in a tech-led transformation within a financial services business investing heavily in modern engineering to better understand its clients and shape future products. A core part of this role will be leading the greenfield development of a new internal portal, bringing together client data and insights to help the business make smarter, faster decisions about the products it builds next. Alongside this, you’ll help modernise existing platforms and raise front-end standards across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership over front-end direction, architecture, and delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading front-end development for a brand-new internal portal, focused on surfacing client data and insights in a clear, intuitive way
- Modernising and improving existing front-end platforms using Angular and React
- Owning front-end architecture, standards, and best practices to support scalability, performance, and security
- Driving adoption of modern front-end tooling, frameworks, and engineering practices
- Mentoring front-end engineers through code reviews, coaching, and technical leadership
- Collaborating closely with Product, UX/UI, Backend, Data, and Compliance teams to deliver business-critical solutions
- Ensuring applications are highly performant, reliable, and suitable for a regulated financial services environment
What we’re looking for:
- Strong commercial experience with Angular and React in complex production environments
- Experience operating in a Lead or Senior Front End role with clear technical ownership
- Experience designing scalable front-end architectures and contributing to or owning design systems
- Comfortable building data-rich, user-focused interfaces
- Confident communicator who can influence technical direction and lead by example
Nice to have:
- Background in financial services, fintech, banking, or insurance
- Experience working on greenfield products and large-scale platform modernisation
- Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or data-heavy applications
What’s on offer:
- Salary of £80,000 – £90,000
- Fully remote within the UK
- High-impact role working on products that directly influence business strategy
- Genuine ownership over front-end engineering direction
- Collaborative, forward-thinking engineering culture with strong investment in technology
If you enjoy building modern, data-driven front-end applications and want to shape platforms that influence real business decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
