Join Our Team as a Functional Safety Engineer!

My client are looking for a Functional Safety expert with a passion for designing safe, reliable, and robust software for the automotive industry? They are looking for a leader to drive functional safety activities across our software organisation, ensuring our platform software meets the highest safety standards.

This is a initial short term 3 month contract that will get extended or flipped into permanent after completion. The contract is paying £240 a day and is Inside IR35. The role is Hybrid and involves 2 days a week at there office in Gaydon (CV35 0RR)

About the Role:

As a Functional Safety Engineer , you will:

  • Lead functional safety activities, embedding safety principles into our platform software.
  • Collaborate across teams to design, analyse, and validate safety-critical systems.
  • Conduct software functional safety analyses, including FMEA , FTA , and DFA , to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 standards.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Software Requirements and Architecture development.
  • Proven experience with ISO 26262 at the software level.
  • Skilled in software functional safety analyses (FMEA, FTA, DFA).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR ASW/BSW , Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) , and software verification.
  • Experience conducting Confirmation Reviews to validate compliance and safety.

Your Experience:

Required Experience:

  • Extensive background in automotive functional safety development, with a focus on ASIL B software architecture.
  • Knowledge in A-SPICE and coding standards like MISRA C/C++ .

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR , BSW , and advanced verification methodologies.
