Nixor is working with a Global provider of Child services as they look to bring in a Technical Architect with excellent AWS experience, ideally working with a customer-facing product. This role will work at an Enterprise level helping to support a small team, but will also have the overriding technical input into how to build a brand new Micro-services Cloud architecture for their main enterprise system.
Right at the start of this Global Transformation, our client has acquired multiple businesses over the last 20 years, leading to an increasingly complex IT landscape. As a result, their internal systems are under strain, prompting a major transformation program. The first phase of this initiative focuses on redeveloping the core enterprise system, which manages outbound communications, processes payments, plans curriculum, and handles customer interactions. A proof of concept was successfully trialed in Scotland, receiving strong approval from the board. As a result, the rollout is now expanding across the UK, with future plans to extend into the USA, Australia, and New Zealand. Recently, the company has automated its data upload processes, improving data quality from 40% to 98%. This success has captured the attention of the C-suite, leading to increased investment in leveraging big data.
Technical Architect Role
This role is a mix between Technical Architect & Enterprise Architect, but you must have a strong background in AWS and ideally have operated at a strategic level while also being hands-on when needed. The ideal candidate will:
- Act as a technical glue across a cross-functional team of 10 (software developers, data engineers, data analysts, business analysts, and product managers).
- Conduct discovery work, define the technical direction, and communicate the rationale in layman’s terms to non-technical stakeholders, including directors.
- Work in an environment that blends the agility of a startup with the scale of a global enterprise.
Beyond the core enterprise system and mobile application rebuild, multiple data and enterprise system projects are in the pipeline, with a roadmap extending at least five years.
Experience & Skills Required
- Strong expertise in building microservices architectures.
- Deep understanding of AWS.
- Experience building Data Lakes and utilizing innovative data techniques.
- Ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a strong AWS Technical Architect, but wants to step into an Enterprise role.
