DevOps Engineer – Azure / Terraform / CI/CD / IPaaS
Remote-first (UK) | Quarterly meet-ups | £70k DOE
We’re working with a fast-growing SaaS business that’s investing heavily in its platform as it moves from a monolithic .NET framework into a microservices architecture. They’ve recently been acquired and are scaling fast, with fresh investment and a clear programme of work to modernise infrastructure, integrations, and developer flow.
The DevOps team is small but experienced, with one senior engineer leading firefighting day-to-day. They need someone who can come in, take ownership, and bring stability and structure, not only across Terraform and core Azure infrastructure, but also in enabling the business to make the most of Azure’s integration services (IPaaS).
This role suits someone who thrives on variety: one day optimising AKS clusters and CI/CD pipelines, the next supporting developers with Service Bus, Logic Apps, or API Management.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform/Terragrunt, ensuring stability and integrity across environments.
- Refining and owning CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps).
- Supporting the move from monolith to microservices, improving developer flow and release speed.
- Managing and optimising Azure App Services and AKS clusters.
- Working with Azure IPaaS services such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management to enable integrations and support developer workflows.
- Taking a metrics-led approach to understand scalability issues and close the gap between application and infrastructure.
- Reducing BAU load on the senior DevOps engineer by owning day-to-day infrastructure and integration.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience with Terraform (modularised, Terragrunt a plus).
- Solid background in Azure infrastructure (AKS, App Services, monitoring, scaling).
- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, ideally across GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy.
- Experience with Azure IPaaS services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management).
- Ability to troubleshoot BAU issues and own both the infra and integration layers.
- Strong communicator with humility and a collaborative style.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS (for machine learning workloads).
- Experience with messaging/queues (Service Bus, RabbitMQ).
- Background in .NET environments.
Why join?
- Take ownership from day one, stepping into a role where your impact will be felt immediately.
- Join a business on a clear growth trajectory, with fresh investment and a long-term technical roadmap implementing the latest and best to facilitate great development.
- Work in a small, collaborative team where humility, partnership, and ambition are valued.
- Remote-first culture, with just quarterly all-hands and the option of co-working space if you want in-person time.
Salary: £70k DOE
Location: Remote-first, UK-based, with quarterly meet-ups.
If you’re a DevOps Engineer who can bridge infrastructure and integration that wants to help drive a platform through its biggest transformation to date, we’d love to hear from you.
