A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to support software and systems quality activities across complex engineering programmes. This role will focus on ensuring the integrity, consistency, and usability of software and systems defect data, helping teams make informed decisions and improve product quality across the development lifecycle. You will act as a key link between testing teams, defect resolution engineers, and release teams, transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights and supporting business-critical reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse software and systems defect data to identify trends, risks, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of defect data across engineering programmes.
  • Support project planning and delivery activities through data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Produce transparent and high-quality weekly reporting for senior management stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to validate metrics and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Interpret data and communicate key findings and business messages clearly to stakeholders.
  • Monitor defect tickets and identify common errors, inconsistencies, and tooling issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to defect management processes and data quality.
  • Coach and guide users on defect management best practices, data cleanliness, and consistency standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting capabilities and decision-making processes.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in data analytics, reporting, or engineering data environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify meaningful trends.
  • Experience producing management reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
