My Client is a leader in automotive innovation, driving the next generation of connected vehicles through advanced cloud and digital services. As the automotive industry evolves towards smarter, more interconnected systems, ensuring robust security is critical — and that’s where this role comes in. This role involves 2/3 days a month in the Manchester office. This is a 10 Month contract paying £500 a day inside IR35.
As a Cyber Architect specialising in Threat Modelling, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding their cutting-edge vehicle platforms. Embedded within the Offboard team, you’ll ensure the security of cloud services and external networks powering key vehicle functionalities — from real-time vehicle diagnostics to mobile app integrations and remote access features like engine start and keyless entry. You’ll be at the forefront of securing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous vehicle technologies, including the AI driving innovation in smart, self-learning vehicles. Protecting them from evolving cyber threats is essential for ensuring vehicle and passenger safety. You’ll contribute to securing some of the most advanced automotive technology on the market, helping to safeguard the future of connected and autonomous vehicles.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for threat modelling across cloud-powered vehicle connectivity platforms.
- Develop and refine threat models for mobile integrations, over-the-air updates, and digital vehicle services.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and integrate security best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
- Lead the implementation of cloud security best practices — including authentication, security groups, PKI, and AWS security controls.
- Act as the primary security advisor, guiding engineering teams to design and deploy resilient, scalable, and secure cloud architectures.
- Champion a security-first mindset, upskilling teams and embedding security considerations at every stage of development.
