Nixon McQuade are delighted to be working with a well-established law firm in Belfast who are seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Insurance Litigation team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career within legal support.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting fee earners within the Insurance Litigation department
  • Preparing, maintaining and analysing management information reports
  • Producing accurate reports for internal and departmental use
  • Working confidently with Excel and large data sets
  • Preparing and managing legal documents and correspondence
  • Opening, maintaining and organising case files
  • Scheduling appointments, meetings and court dates
  • Assisting with billing, invoicing and payment procedures
  • Liaising with clients, courts and third parties
  • Preparing bundles for court hearings
  • Managing post, emails, scanning, filing and general administration
  • Supporting with legal research and data compilation as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Confident working with data, reports and spreadsheets
  • Previous legal, insurance, claims or professional services experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
  • Proactive, flexible and comfortable working as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection

This role would suit a law graduate or junior legal assistant with excellent Excel skills who is keen to gain experience within insurance litigation and progress their career.
