A permanent role based in Wirral with a salary of Β£28,000 - Β£35,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including flexible hours and hybrid working.

About the Firm:

NC Associates is proud to be working with a well-established Accountancy Practice based in Wirral. The business is ambitious, forward-thinking, and committed to delivering outstanding service. They are now looking for a Payroll Manager to join their growing Wirral office. The office is a supportive, pro-active encouraging environment that offers flexible working with 2 office days and 3 work from home days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and calculate weekly and monthly payrolls and pensions for multiple clients
  • Input new starters, leavers, bonuses, overtime, sick and unpaid leave, SMP, SAP, expenses, childcare vouchers, travel allowances, pensions into the payroll system
  • Upload pension contributions to multiple pension providers
  • Set up PAYE Schemes and Pension Schemes
  • Liaise directly with clients and HMRC, submitting tax, NI, P45, P46 and P11ds, CIS returns
  • Deal with all payroll queries
  • Create spreadsheets to help clients with payroll and CIS reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all current HMRC and Pension legislation
  • Filing of confirmation statement with Companies House
  • On-boarding of new clients, MLR checks, setting up on various systems
  • Agent authorisations for Taxes
  • Working closely with clients and the directors
  • Dealing with and distributing the post

About You:

  • Must have experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Highly proficient in the use of Brightpay software and Brightpay connect
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent working knowledge of PAYE and Auto Enrolment
  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice is essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure and without supervision
  • Proactive in identifying issues/problems/opportunities and dealing with them accordingly
  • Basic knowledge of the interaction between payroll and other taxes/finance strategies
  • Excellent communicator
