NC Associates are working with an established and growing business in Shotton who are looking to recruit an Accounts Manager to take ownership of the company’s finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working autonomously and managing all aspects of day-to-day finance operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Senior Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts function while supporting the wider business with financial planning, compliance, and reporting.
The successful candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent organisational skills, and confidence managing finance processes independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, issuing, and monitoring customer invoices.
- Ensuring all completed works are invoiced accurately and promptly.
- Monitoring outstanding payments and liaising with clients regarding overdue accounts.
- Managing monthly payroll submissions and associated reporting.
- Liaising directly with HMRC regarding EPS and FPS submissions.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Overseeing company finance processes, reporting, and controls.
- Working closely with senior management to support project finances and business planning.
- Providing finance-related guidance and training to colleagues where required.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making processes.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Manager or Finance Manager role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Xero accounting software is essential.
- Experience processing payroll and liaising with HMRC.
- Understanding of financial compliance and reporting requirements.
- Experience within construction, consultancy, or project-based businesses would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of TEAMS asbestos surveying and compliance software would be beneficial, although training can be provided.
