A long established PE backed group organisation based in Manchester City Centre is looking to recruit a Management Accountant. As a Management Accountant, you will be working closely with senior members of the finance team. This is a broad role that will provide support in the production of management and statutory accounts for a number of entities within the group, assisting in driving improvements in processes, controls and reporting to enable business growth. This role will also involve financial reporting and providing finance business partnering on various projects within the group.
Management Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare management accounts from ‘end to end’, posting accruals and prepayments, tax, fixed assets.
- Variance analysis of the P&L and margin analysis of sales.
- Work closely with the senior members of the team in the production of the quarterly group consolidated management accounts and year end statutory financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and file VAT returns.
- Sales reporting.
- Reconciling all balance sheet control accounts; PAYE, VAT, Wages.
- Reviewing aged accounts payable and receivable.
- Credit card reconciliations and accruals.
- Other tasks will develop as new companies and acquisitions continue to develop.
- Liaise with the auditors and assist senior members of the finance team in the management of audit queries and responses.
- Supporting the wider business through the ongoing systems process and improvements.
Management Accountant Experience Required:
- A commercially astute part qualified – newly qualified accountant with a strong eye for detail.
- Previous experience working within a similar role as a Management Accountant is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of producing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- The ability to work as part of a team and hit tight deadlines.
- Strong communicator and able to articulate financial information in an easy to understand format.
- An eye for process improvements and the confidence to make suggestions.
- Adhoc travel to various sites within the group.
