Accounts Assistant – the role

NC Associates are working exclusively with a well-established and expanding organisation in Manchester City Centre to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their finance experience within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key part in assisting with financial transactions, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with purchase and sales ledger processing
  • Reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements
  • Processing invoices, payments, and credit notes
  • Assisting with month-end duties, including accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the accounts receivable and payable functions
  • Handling finance queries and liaising with suppliers and internal teams
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Providing general support to the finance team as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant role or similar finance position
  • Knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with finance software
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
