Assistant Accountant Role Overview
NC Associates have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic property management business in Glasgow. This role provides financial and administrative support to the Client Accounting team. This role will take certain duties off the Client Accountants with the long term plan for you to have your own client portfolio as a Client Accountant after training.
Assistant Accountant – Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Payments & Reconciliations – Reviewing, processing, and authorising supplier payments.
- Billing & Credit Control – Managing service charges, rent, insurance, and recharges.
- VAT Returns & Month-End Tasks – Assisting with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Bank Reconciliations – Ensuring accuracy and resolving outstanding items.
- Data & System Management – Maintaining up-to-date financial records within accounting systems.
- Onboarding & Offboarding Support – Managing financial transitions for new and outgoing instructions.
- Produce, reconcile, analyse tenant and client deposits bank accounts, addressing any backlogs or issues.
- Updating and maintaining property lease and occupier data onto the property management system.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Working with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline financial processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Client Accountant is desirable.
- Previous experience working in a varied finance role.
- Property Sector Knowledge – Beneficial but not essential.
- Proactive & Organised – Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented – Strong problem-solving skills.
- Personable & Easy-Going – A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Tech-Savvy – Experience with accounting/property management systems experience is a plus.
