Client Portfolio Manager Overview
NC Associates are working with a growing professional services organisation who are looking to recruit a Client Portfolio Manager to join their expanding team.
This is a predominantly field-based role focused on developing and maintaining strong client relationships across a portfolio of SME businesses. The successful candidate will spend much of their week visiting clients on-site, helping them understand their accounts, financial position, and overall business performance. Although this is a field based role the candidate will need to be located within North East England as this is where the clients will be based.
The role would suit someone with several years’ experience within accountancy practice who enjoys building relationships with business owners and explaining financial information, but who does not necessarily want a traditional office-based accounts preparation role.

Client Portfolio Manager Key Responsibilities
Visiting clients regularly at their premises across the North-East region
Acting as the main relationship contact for a portfolio of SME clients
Supporting clients in understanding their accounts and financial performance
Liaising with the internal accounts team to ensure work is completed accurately and on time
Supporting clients with cloud accounting software including Xero
Identifying opportunities where additional services may benefit clients
Providing client feedback and commercial insight to the wider management team
Representing the business professionally when meeting clients
Client Portfolio Manager Experience Required
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
Qualified by experience or AAT level background
Strong understanding of:
Limited company accounts
Sole trader accounts
Partnership accounts
VAT basics
Management accounts
Confident communicating financial information to business owners and non-financial stakeholders
Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero would be advantageous
Full UK driving licence required

Confident and personable when dealing with clients
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify financial information
Organised and able to manage workload independently
Professional and commercially aware
Comfortable working within a fast-paced and growing organisation
