NC Associates are working with a successful and growing business based in Ellesmere Port that is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support its busy finance department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transactional finance who enjoys working in a varied role.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the accounts function, ensuring financial information is processed accurately while supporting month-end activities and maintaining excellent relationships with both suppliers and customers.

  • Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities
  • Processing supplier invoices and ensuring they are authorised and recorded accurately
  • Raising sales invoices and allocating incoming customer payments
  • Reconciling supplier and customer accounts, resolving any discrepancies promptly
  • Supporting credit control activities, including chasing overdue payments where required
  • Processing bank reconciliations and daily cash postings
  • Assisting with month-end tasks including journals, accruals and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing documentation
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team and assisting with ad-hoc accounting duties
  • Accounts Assistant Experience Required
  • Previous experience working within an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant position
  • Good knowledge of both purchase ledger and sales ledger processes
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise with internal departments and external contacts
