About the Role: Senior Commercial Counsel I – a commercially minded, execution‑oriented legal partner supporting Nium’s global growth. Serve as trusted counsel to commercial, partnership, treasury, compliance, and executive teams, leading complex transactions across payments, card issuance, treasury, and digital asset/class stablecoin‑enabled solutions. Key Responsibilities:- Lead drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements with enterprise customers, financial institutions, fintechs, marketplaces, and strategic partners globally.
- Own the company’s most strategic transactions end‑to‑end with minimal supervision.
- Support launch and scaling of new payment, card, treasury, and digital asset products, including stablecoin‑enabled solutions.
- Develop scalable legal infrastructure – templates, negotiation playbooks, contracting standards, and self‑service resources.
- Advise on vendor, technology, SaaS, data, and infrastructure agreements.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with compliance, regulatory, privacy, finance, and product teams.
- Drive adoption of AI‑enabled legal workflows, contract automation, and knowledge management tools.
- 5+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer in‑house, at a top law firm, or in a government agency.
