About the Role
As a Global Partnerships Director, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and scaling Nium’s strategic partnership ecosystem globally. Your primary focus will be to strengthen existing partnerships while identifying and onboarding new high-value partners through white-label, referral, and integration agreements that drive sustainable net revenue growth. You will play a key leadership role in designing and executing partnership strategies that align with Nium’s long-term commercial objectives. This includes establishing joint business goals with partners, ensuring successful operational and technical collaboration, and continuously evaluating partnership performance to maximise customer value and financial return. Partnerships that do not meet agreed-upon success metrics will be restructured or sunset to maintain a high-impact partner portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the global partnership lifecycle — from partner identification and onboarding to performance management and optimisation across white-label, referral, and integration models.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic travel and fintech partners across Europe to generate incremental net revenue and improve joint customer satisfaction.
- Design and implement joint business plans with partners, including shared KPIs, commercial targets, go-to-market strategies, and success metrics.
- Ensure partnerships are operationally effective by collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Compliance, Marketing, and Technical Integration teams.
- Monitor partnership performance through data-driven analysis of revenue contribution, customer adoption, transaction flows, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to deepen collaboration through product integrations, co-marketing initiatives, or expanded commercial agreements.
- Lead commercial negotiations for new strategic partnerships, including white-label and embedded finance solutions.
- Build strong executive-level relationships with key stakeholders across the travel ecosystem (OTAs, TMCs, GDSs, fintech platforms).
- Act as the primary escalation point for partnership challenges, ensuring issues are resolved quickly to protect commercial outcomes and partner relationships.
- Continuously assess partnership ROI and make strategic recommendations to scale, restructure, or sunset underperforming partnerships.
- Drive innovation through ecosystem partnerships that expand Nium’s distribution channels and embedded payments capabilities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or commercial leadership roles within Payments, FinTech, E-Commerce, Banking, or Financial Services in Europe.
- Proven experience building and managing global partnership programs, including white-label, referral, or integration-based models.
- Strong understanding of the travel payments ecosystem, ideally with experience in OTA, TMC, GDS, or travel-related fintech platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to structure and execute complex commercial agreements and joint go-to-market strategies.
- Track record of driving revenue growth through partner-led distribution channels.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to evaluate partnership performance and make strategic decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
- Commercially pragmatic with a solution-oriented approach to partnership development.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of operating effectively in a global, matrixed organisation.
