Working with the various business and functional stakeholders to understand their business strategy and target operating model to produce corresponding architecture roadmaps.
Delivering Engineering Designs and Solution Architecture to meet business requirements, from logical architecture through to physical infrastructure architecture.
Ensuring clear alignment between the Protective Security Book of Work and the functional and architecture roadmaps.
Participating in Architectural Governance processes to ensure that proposed solution designs are strategically aligned to the architecture roadmaps and the Groupβs Future State Architecture.
Representing PS in the PGC & GCOO Technologies Technical Design Authority for Corporate Services.
Ensuring proposed solutions use group approved technology and adhere to approved technology and infrastructure design patterns.
Ensuring that deployed system solutions, both vendors supplied, and in-house developments are appropriately hosted (Internally, Externally, Cloud, PaaS, SaaS) including the corresponding governance and relevant approval processes.
Gaining insight into industry developments and trends and identifying opportunities for innovation and leveraging new technology.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- In-depth technical, functional, and non-functional knowledge of:
- Networking
- IoT / Edge technologies
- Protective Security technologies and solutions (EACS, SVS, Biometrics, Video analytics)
- Server infrastructure and virtualization
- Cloud infrastructure (particularly Azure)
- Middleware
- Databases
Excellent understanding of the concept of Enterprise Architecture and its relationship to business strategy and target operating models, and how to relate this to an architecture roadmap and a solid understanding of general architectural concepts, principles, governance, and best practices.
Experience of technologies: AWS, Google GCP, Azure, MuleSoft.
Strong background of system engineering, able to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement. Able to provide technical thought leadership in the evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption.
Proven vendor management experience.
This role is based in Sheffield and offers hybrid working.
