Nissen Richards Studio has an opening for a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its studio in London. Nissen Richards Studio is a multidisciplinary team including architects, exhibition designers, graphic designers, interpretation specialists and theatre designers. We work on a range of interesting projects for major galleries and museums in the UK and internationally, as well as housing and arts-based architectural projects.
Person specification:
- Part 1 UK qualification or equivalent with a strong creative portfolio
- A talented creative designer with a good eye for detail
- Proficient in Rhino or other 3D modelling software, Vectorworks or other CAD drawing software and Adobe Suite
- Excellent physical model making skills
- Good sketching ability and able to communicate ideas graphically
- Good rendering and visualisation skills
- Enthusiastic, eager to develop and take on a high level of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive approach to working; self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Your role:
- Contribute to developing designs for projects and submissions
- Assist architects and designers with day-to-day running of projects
- Develop designs from initial stages to presentation renderings and models
- Preparing 2D drawings, 3D digital and physical models and creating visualisations
- Making physical models and prototypes
- Undertake research related to ongoing projects
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and available to start July or August. The position is for a minimum of eight months. Salary dependent upon experience. Nissen Richards Studio is an equal opportunities employer.
