Mission and Main Objectives: The overall purpose of the Purchasing Junior Buyer (AO) is commodity management and achieving cost reduction objectives for maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) commodity. Operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment, supporting several business entities. The successful candidate will have strong communication, interpersonal skills and experience in supplier and stakeholder management.
Outline and Responsibilities:
- Management of consumable stores ordering, including timely stock replenishment, management of possible run outs, working with budget holders on sourcing alternatives products in case of shortages.
- Ordering for MRO commodity for non-catalogue requests, including liaising with Budget Holders to ensure compliance with their requirements.
- Commodity management and sourcing of goods and maintenance contracts; ensuring continuity of supply; ensuring compliance with legal and corporate governance requirements.
- Delivering optimum cost reduction performance, and assist in the development of commodity strategy.
- Managing supplier relationships with key MRO suppliers to deliver best in class Quality, Cost, Delivery, Management and Sustainability.
- Supporting development of best practice solutions for automation of low value spend.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Experience in Procurement/Purchasing.
- MRO / consumables purchasing experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications required.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, time critical decision making.
- Aspirational to develop and keen to progress a career in procurement.
